Миф о 1648 годе: класс, геополитика и создание современных международных отношений - Бенно Тешке
Настоящая книга опровергает распространенное представление о том, что Вестфальские мирные соглашения 1648 г. не только положили конец Тридцатилетней войне в Европе, но и ознаменовали собой рождение нового международного порядка, основанного на взаимодействии суверенных государств. Автор показывает, что внутригосударственные «общественные отношения собственности» оказывали определяющее влияние на международные отношения по меньшей мере до начала Великой французской революции. Династические монархии, правившие в это время, отличались от своих средневековых предшественниц степенью и формой персонализации власти, но не ее основополагающей логикой. Действительные перемены произошли относительно недавно и были связаны с развитием современных государств и капитализма. Современная система международных отношений возникла только после того, как правительства начали править безлично, ограничив свои функции осуществлением монополии на насилие.
